Cosy and unique café in the heart of Kuopio

Unique and cosy

In a world that is more and more globalized and standadized, it is very refreshing to find places that are unique. Kahvila Kaneli is a tiny café located in the city center for Kuopio, a few meters from the market hall. It is a mix between an antique boutique, handicrafts shop, museum and café. Inside, you forget immediatelly that we are in the 21st century. It is quiet and cosy. The place is well known from locals and can be quite busy around lunch time.

Forest-mushroom pie

The café has a small but delicious selection of warm salty pies served with salad for 5.50€: feta-broccoli, forest mushroom, smoked salmon, cheese-vegetables and tomato-mozzarella. Lunch is served between 11am and 3pm.

Pear-chocolate cake with whipped cream and cocoa powder

Spelt-cranberry cake with vanilla sauce

The sweet pies are a shameful temptation. They look all so delicious that it is hard to choose (from 4.90€): chocolate mud cake, cheese cake, cherry-chocolate cake, chocolate-walnut cake, pear-chocolate cake, mint-chocolate cake, apple cake, spelt-cranberry cake, plum cake. All cakes are served with a sauce.

Everything is handmade and absolutely delicious. Prices are in the average. It's an ideal place for meeting friends.
