This is probably one of my favorite neighborhoods in Finland's capital: Arabianranta. As a design enthusiast, I love to chill in the factory, in the parks chasing the statues and other pieces of art or just visit the exhibition in the design museum. This is a peaceful area, perfect to unleach your imagination and recharge your batteries or simply to impress your friends!
Surrounding the Arabia (ceramics) factory that used to be the biggest in Europe, this area is devoted to design. Many famous Finnish brands have their outlet shops in the main building (Arabia, Fiskars, Iittala, Pentik, Finlayson). It is a good opportunity to acquire a piece of Finnish design at a reasonnable price. In addition, you'll find a library and a small café.
Arabianranta is a perfect mix of modernity, history, art and culture. It only takes a 20 minutes tram ride (lines 6 and 8) from the center.
