Unique and cosy |
In a world that is more and more globalized and standadized, it is very refreshing to find places that are unique. Kahvila Kaneli is a tiny café located in the city center for Kuopio, a few meters from the market hall. It is a mix between an antique boutique, handicrafts shop, museum and café. Inside, you forget immediatelly that we are in the 21st century. It is quiet and cosy. The place is well known from locals and can be quite busy around lunch time.

The café has a small but delicious selection of warm salty pies served with salad for 5.50€: feta-broccoli, forest mushroom, smoked salmon, cheese-vegetables and tomato-mozzarella. Lunch is served between 11am and 3pm.
Pear-chocolate cake with whipped cream and cocoa powder |
Spelt-cranberry cake with vanilla sauce |
The sweet pies are a shameful temptation. All cakes are served with a sauce.
Everything is handmade and absolutely delicious. Prices are in the average. It's an ideal place for meeting friends.
